25 Reasons To Breastfeed

I breastfed this animal-lover until he turned 5!

Adrian horseriding

Even while I worked full time (my breast pump and freezer were my best friends).

Adrian and Doglas

There are so many reasons why I breastfed…

Aside from my boy growing up to be smart and lovable and a budding author…

Search, Compare and Shop with PRICEZA

Isn’t online shopping amazing?

When you have everything you are looking for at your fingertips – from clothes to electronic items, phone and mobile accessories, shoes, cosmetics, who won’t fall in love with online shopping?

I am probably one of the biggest fans of online shopping. I am definitely mesmerized by the ease and the wide range of collections available.

I have one big issue while doing some online shopping, though.

Like you, I also like to get the best for what I pay for. However, this usually makes me end up visiting more than ten different websites with price comparison which makes me tired and lose my interest at the end.  I can’t seem to find the right site which offers what I am looking for as best deals.

Until I found Priceza PH

Priceza PH is where I can search for products, compare them and buy the best and cheapest ones, hassle free!

Adrian’s Unsung Hero

I thought I had parenting down pat.  I have two teen girls and a young boy who are pretty well-adjusted (with normal teen angst and a teenie-weenie teenage rebellion thrown in the mix) which is a perfect match for me who is a pretty well-adjusted mom.

Or am I?

A month ago, I saw this entry in my son’s school journal(by the way, he gave me his approval to print this entry):

journal 1

Let me write it down for you:

He wrote:
Today it was super fun.  So I think I will design the phoenix since I got a plan, but I will tell you something.  I’m exactly the last student here because as I’m writing this, I’m at school and the time is 5:58.
Wait.  Did you read that right?

Did it say he was the last student in school and it was 5:58???

Protect Your Child with Ceelin Plus!

Over three weeks ago, I received a text message from school around lunch time asking me to pick Adrian up because he is nursing a fever.

I was surprised because he seemed okay that morning when I took him to school.

When I went to school, the school registrar told me some of the kids in their class section were getting sick or were absent. Baka nahawa daw si Adrian.

“It must be the weather, ma’am.  (It rained 3 weeks non-stop here in Baguio City) And nagtataka rin ako, ang bilis lumala ng mga sakit nila!”

Rainy Baguio City

And it was true.  Adrian was fine that morning, but over a few hours, he complained of having a pounding head ache, body ache and his body temperature shot up (it reached around 39+ degrees celsius later in the afternoon after I picked him up).

Celebrating the Memory of Your Loved Ones

One of my favorite quotes about love is by Nicholas Spark’s “A Walk to Remember.”

Celebrating the Memory of Your Loved Ones

They are the words that comfort me every time I think of my mom whom I lost 8 years ago and my dad whom I lost 2 years ago…

The Dangers of Sick Days

When kids skip school due to illness, they miss more than just a class – they miss opportunities for growth.

The Dangers of Sick Days #DMPineappleADay
More and more Filipino children are contracting viral and bacterial disease because of weak immune systems, a recent clinical study published in the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism reveals. This growing prevalence of infection in school-age populations is particularly urgent because a single sick day may affect many different facets of your child’s life, including time-sensitive activities like going to school to attend classes.

Are Your Friends Making You Fat?

Has this ever happened to you when you are out with a friend dining out?
You are trying to eat healthy the whole week and are quite proud of yourself.  The menu is screaming for you to get the carbonara, but you tell yourself, “I really shouldn’t.”
Then your friend says to the waiter, “I want the carbonara.”
“Make mine carbonara, too.” You hear yourself say.

IKR.  This must have happened to me a lot of times. Our friends tend to have a big influence on our health decisions.  I actually read somewhere that the way your friends shape your health behavior is part of a scientific research!

Here is how our friends may be making us fat:

How to Make it Through Alcohol Withdrawals

Withdrawal from any drug, even alcohol, is a long and difficult process that takes a strong resolve and a solid dedication towards getting completely clean and kicking your habit. If you suffer with an addition to alcohol, it's important to detoxify your body of the substance and change the way you view alcohol so that you no longer feel dependent upon it.

Amazing Me–Yoga For Kids

Urban Ashram Manila, in collaboration with Firetree Press, launched the first local kids yoga book entitled Amazing Me. Written and illustrated by long-time yoga teacher Nica Hechanova, Amazing Me is a unique and spirited book that allows kids, within the age of four to nine years old, to transform their bodies into the forms of the harmonious elements they find in nature. Made alive with playful illustrations, the easy-to-read prose enables kids to realize, on their own terms, how to connect to the natural world, interact meaningfully, and achieve internal serenity.

AmazingMe-yoga-for-kidsThe book launch took place at the Bonifacio High Street branch of Urban Ashram Manila on the 27th of June 2015. Accompanying the release of her book, Nica Hechanova led a free family and kids yoga session to allow kids to experience firsthand the freedom and expression found in yoga. This followed a compelling presentation about the long-term benefits of starting yoga at a young age by family and child psychologist, Michele Alignay.

Visit any Urban Ashram Manila Studio or order online at to avail of a copy. Shipping is available locally and internationally.

High Quality Lace Wigs Online Store

Hair extensions and lace wigs are becoming more and more popular in today’s society. This is often contributed to the high volume of celebrities who are now proudly displaying these products.

With more and more companies producing these products to keep up with the steadily growing demand, it can be difficult to find a company that delivers on all of its promises. You should look thoroughly into the companies out there before making a purchase.

Three Steps To Unblock Your Subconscious Mind and Draw In Prosperity

Hey, There!

Thank God it’s Friday!

It’s like the week passed by so fast, with me realizing that not much happened.

Just the feeling that I felt so overworked, but so unfulfilled.

Have you ever felt that way?

I probably must have felt that a million times, like a lingering feeling I can’t shake off.

Well, it is the weekend, so let us all shake off every single bit of negative energy we unknowingly absorbed this workweek as we learn the  Three Steps to Unblock Your Subconscious Mind and Draw In Prosperity By Heather Mathews.

(If you are a big fan of “The Secret”, this one’s for you, and oh, read to the end to learn a simple technique which automatically triples your vibrational output and forces the Universe to bring in MORE of what you love. No kidding. I have personally tried this.)

How Do You Keep Your Children Safe Online?

I have a question.

How many of you parents allowed your children to play with your laptops, tablets or smartphones – without supervision?

And how many of you have children as young as six who have social media accounts?

As parents, I know that we mean well.  We try to guard our children into conquering the world as they grow older.  We teach them that they should look right and left when crossing the road.  We tell them to always be nice to friends and classmates.  We warn them to never talk to strangers.

But with our children’s generation, it has become a herculean task to be protecting them from something they practically know more than we do – the internet.

My Top Ten Online Shopping Sites in the Philippines

A long time ago, in a far-away land, shopaholic residents like me spend their endless rainy weekends in a box-like structure called the shopping mall.  It was a place where the crowds gather-like there was no other place to go- trying on clothes, testing gadgets, deciding on which running shoes to get.
I am no longer part of that long-ago crowd…

I have wisened up.

I am now doing my shopping the quick, simple and effective way. I am doing my shopping the online way.

In the past decade, the local online scene has grown in leaps and bounds with hundreds of online sites offering a variety of stuff.  It is literally a jungle out there!   But how to sort out the bad to the “pwede na” to the stand-out online stores?

Presenting to you my own top ten list, in no particular order.

How the Bacteria in Our Guts Help to Make Us Thinner or Fatter

For the 35% of Americans who are doing battle right now with obesity, many of the causes are familiar. Poor diet, stationary lifestyles and even genes all impact our ability to lose weight and live healthy. Researchers, however, in recent years have become interested in a less traditional cause of weight gain, gut microbes. Yes, that's right, the bacteria in our stomach may have direct influence on everything from our metabolism, to our brain chemistry, and even what foods we “crave” and which foods we “hate”. This certainly has the potential to change the treatment of obesity, and how we deal with weight gain clinically.
