When our little ones get poorly it’s so heartbreaking to watch, and I made a promise to myself that to prevent this going forward, I would make sure to be as healthy as possible with a good diet and nutrition in place for the both of us.
When baby is sick and I feel like I’m about to catch something, I am constantly downing orange juice, stocking up on vitamins and eating lots of citrus fruits. However, this may not be enough to keep your immune system strong, the truth is you must exercise as well.
If you exercise regularly, there’s a good chance that you’re helping to boost your immune system.
In fact, it has been said in studies that if you complete moderate exercise just a few times every week, you can drastically reduce the number of colds that you get every year. To come to think of it, having a healthy immune system is something we don’t often think about, but as we get older we do become more in tune with our bodies. We begin to realize what our bodies’ rejects over time, and notice the effects that things have on us as we grow – good or bad. It’s simple, to enhance your immune system, you need to stick to a good workout routine. And let me tell you, from all the exercises I’ve tried, taking up Kids karate classes Sydney has got to be the best exercise for an all round fitness workout. It works up a sweat, helps build muscle mass, strengthens your immunity and overall gives you a stronger body. It’s a super high energy, fat burning and toning workout, and there are lots of techniques to choose from, if you’re not familiar with any you can have a look at the styles at Martial Tribes.
My favorite has to be kickboxing however all of which comes with many benefits for the overall body, health and mind. Martial arts is a high cardio workout and when you exercise regularly it can improve your immune system immensely. The movements you will practice will pump more blood throughout your body and help your heart to get stronger. Your lungs will get better at handling oxygen and dishing it out to the rest of your body which will improve your whole body from functioning better. Your muscles also get stronger as you use them more often and your immune system is no different. Exercising in martial arts just 2-3 times a week can boost up the cells in your body that are assigned to attack bacteria. People who do not exercise, these cells will work more slowly and as a result they will be more prone to becoming sick.
Whether you choose Judo, Karate, Kickboxing or Tai chi, all these exercises can also help decrease your chances of developing heart disease and keeps your bones healthy and strong. I found out that ever since I started martial arts, it has helped me control my stress levels and slow down the release of stress-related hormones. When we are stressed out, this can increase the chance of illnesses and martial arts make a fantastic stress reliever. Martial arts is also great for kids and one thing that struck me the most was that it can even help them with their grades and concentration at school. I will be definitely be looking into martial arts classes for my child later on but for now, I would recommend anyone to start and I wished I had started sooner!
