A couple of weeks ago, I talked about how messy my kitchen was and how I found a slug on my kitchen tile. I have been cleaning up the mess lately (because having slugs crawling, slithering, whatever, is just gross), even under the sink where the omegaflex metal hose is. I have read somewhere that a natural way to get rid of slugs is beer. Apparently, slugs are attracted to beer and once they slither into your beer trap, they will drown and die. And oh, don’t think my kitchen is super-dirty. It did get messy for a little while, but not in that super filthy way you are thinking. I can’t understand why there was a slug.
A tip: Do throw away those funky-smelling sponges. Add a sponge caddy and a bottle of fragrant dish soap. The longer sponges stay wet, the more bacteria-laden they become. The more they smell, too! Keep your sponge off the sink or countertop so it can dry out on both sides.
It seems all the posts I'm seeing right now is all about organizing. Perhaps it reminds me to again organize my things.
I love the idea of having that sponge caddy! 🙂
What I know is to use vinegar for tiles. A chemist friend actually wrote the balanced equation how vinegar reacts with the scum in the tiles. Nerd! hehe
Sponge caddy user here. Though our caddy isn't as elegant looking as the one on the pic. 😛 I also take note of the date I start using a sponge. The maximum amt of time I'd use one is a month, then I dispose of it. Also, I nuke the sponge in the microwave once a week and make sure that I rinse it well after each use.
This is a great idea! hay naku, my lola loves keeping even the old sponges! Not sure if it has something to do with her age, haha. BTW, you're doing paid posts na rin sis? Galing!
I should organize some stuff soon and have like a general cleaning on my day off. 🙂
We used to replace our sponge every week due to smell. Thanks for this into.
Some say microwaving a sponge kills bacteria too. Haven't tried it yet, though.
WE too have a caddy for the kitchen sponge and change it frequently.
