Daddies can’t help it. They don’t know a thing about babies! Having a new baby is just so strange. And his baby doesn’t know anything about baseball, doesn’t care for TV, is not keeping up with the market and likes milk better than beer. They just don’t have a thing in common with Daddy, except maybe both of them belch a lot.
Mommy and baby seem to be the best of friends, in their own special circle of two. Daddy may not admit it, but he feels left out. You can help Daddy be best friends with the newest member of the family by:
Letting Daddy Wear The Baby
Daddies don’t admit it, but they do love to show off their babies to their friends. On the next walk, let Daddy wear the little one in a baby carrier. With baseball season in full swing next month, why don’t you head out for your own “alone time” by getting your nails done, catch up with friends or go to a yoga class? Daddy would love to catch up on his sports with the little one and his friends.
And while on it, why don’t you let your baby wear Daddy’s team and dress baby in one of those gorgeous, comfortable Yankees kids clothes? These are comfortable baby clothes available in cute colors and designs, such as play date outfits, T-shirts and diaper covers, pink summer dresses, wind suits and I am so in love with the pink cheerleader outfit. For babies, clothes are all about comfort, but that they look stylish, sporty and comfortable matters a lot, too. Make sure you are dressing up baby in comfortable, quality clothes and also put a couple of extra clothes in the baby bag just in case the first ones get soiled. Include plenty of diapers, bibs, and baby wipes. Daddy will soon be comfortable bonding with his friends and watching sports while wearing the baby. Daddy would really look forward to teaching and playing the sport in the future.
Daddies are big and strong and babies seem so fragile and tiny that daddies are in constant fear of hurting them. But they are as capable as mom. Sometimes, a lot more.
This is such a great read Marie. I have 2 kids and it didn't come to my senses if one day one of them will ask for a brother. Eh ngayon palang they are cats and dogs already hahaha! 3rd one will be a big decision for us. LOL!
I think you're so ready to handle such difficult questions Marie! 🙂
Yes, admit or not, Daddies are as proud us mommies, or sometimes they are even prouder. Hehe.
