I have lots of rockin’ eye shadow shades during my Mineral Makeup Mania days, but that collection did not prepare me for Tmart’s 88-Color Matte Pearlescent Eye Shadow Palette!
I was overwhelmed! 88 colors!
I mean, it had everything!
I would have wanted to paint all of the colors on me (but I don’t wanna be a parrot hehe).
Tmart.com’s 88-color eyeshadow palette is a makeup artist’s or wanna-be beauty queen’s dream come true.
It features:
- Very pigmented, vibrant colors which is a mix and match of
matte and pearlescent eye shadows, - Safe, high-quality ingredients which gives colors that can
last all day, - And a built-in mirror for your convenience.
Now, how to make sense of all these eye shadow colors?
Here is a quick Eye Makeup 1-2-3 : Applying Eyesahdows 101
First of all, do you use eye makeup because you like the colors so much?
I have done this mistake before. I was given samples of mineral eye shadows with very pigmented colors (think Effie Trinkett of The Hunger Games!) and I would like to use them all.
Here is a reality – Eye makeup is designed to make your eyes stand out.
Your eye makeup can backfire if you choose shades that compete with your eye color.
The secret of good eye makeup is so simple – Eye makeup is supposed to enhance your eyes!
While vibrant eye shadows can look good on your Instagram (and Camera 360 will enhance everything), in real life, we women should stick to more neutral shades. The goal is to make your eyes get noticed – not your eye makeup.
Keep in mind these 1-2-3 steps. Think LIGHT, MEDIUM, DARK!
EYE MAKEUP STEP 1 : LIGHT EYESHADOW ALL OVER YOUR LIDS
Dust a pale or light yellow face powder all over your lids. This will serve as a base for your eye shadow to adhere to
Choose your Eye shadow base.
Look for a color that will blend into your skin tone such as white, sand, or light brown. What does not work (and I made this mistake a
lot of times in the past)? Pink or any shadow with a reddish tone. This will make you look tired, which is the very thing that we are trying to avoid.
Apply your base with a fat eye shadow brush and blend the color from your lashes to your brow bone.
EYE MAKEUP STEP 2: MEDIUM SHADOW ON THE LIDS
Choose a medium-toned shadow that would not require a lot of blending. Apply on the lid up to the
crease. For beginners, choose a couple of basic neutral shades and once you can identify what colors work for you, you can try to experiment with more dramatic eye shadow hues.
Get hold of a soft, fluffy eye shadow brush. Apply the color close to the lashes, over the lid and three quarters of the way up the eye.
If you are having a hard time blending the color, the color is too dark.
Use a soft, fluffy eye shadow brush and apply the color close to the lashes, over the lid and three quarters of the way up the eye.
If you have to work too hard to blend it, the color is too dark.
EYE MAKEUP STEP 3: DARKER SHADE TO LINE THE EYES
Use charcoal, dark brown or mahogany to line your eyes.
Some makeup experts claim that bright colors like neon green or electric blue won’t work because they will clash with your eye
makeup. Others claim that light or white eye liner will make your eyes bigger.
You can experiment and decide which works best for you, although if you want to be on the more conservative side, go for the darker shade.
You can line just the top of your lid. Line all the way across. Some just do the bottom, but this only make your eyes look tired.
For stand-out eyes, line all the way around the eyes. Use a liner brush and apply as close to your lashes as possible. Don’t worry if it is not perfect. Use your finger or a cotton swab/Q-tip to smudge it.

I don't use makeup a lot, but I love reading about it. Thanks for sharing some tips.
Oh my, beautiful colors. Oh how I wish I have one. If I'll have one, I will have to seek assistance from my twin cousin to help me use and apply it 🙂
Kakatuwa naman ung kit..parang water color lang. hehehe
Wow! I already get overwhelmed with 6-color palettes. I'd totally go crazy with 88 colors!
Wow, ang daming colors and shades! And oh, thank you for the very easy-to-follow tutorial. I am no good with make up and this simple instruction gave me an idea how to apply eye shadow properly. My hubby's niece went here at home one time asking me if I could do her make up for their prom. I was like, what? Why me, I know nothing about make up! Haha! Good thing it went well. Thanks to youtube. Haha! 🙂
