I just want to let you know that all opinions are my own and I may earn from qualifying purchases. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Enjoy and feel free to share with your friends!

Five years ago, mineral make-up was the rage in the
cosmetics world.
Why shouldn’t it be?
It is healthy, beneficial and most of all, natural.

I was in the bandwagon when it started.
You see, I have a love-hate affair (mostly hate lol) with my
skin.
I have the most sensitive skin just thinking of what will
irritate it will make it turn red.
Seriously.
Enlarge to see lots of spots!
And oh, I am not even talking about my dark spots and atopic dermatitis.  I break
into a rash when it is warm, I break into a rash when it is cold, I break into
a rash when I am stressed.  It is a  family curse.
Thankfully, in the midst of an intense dermatitis flare on
my face, of all places, five or so years ago, I read about mineral make-up.
Fact Sheet on Mineral Make-up:

Mineral makeup is made from sterilized minerals / naturally occuring
pigments from the earth.  The minerals
are sterilized and ground into powder then mixed with other natural
ingredients.
Mineral make-up is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog
the pores, allowing the skin to breathe.
It has no damaging oils and chemical additives.  It has ingredients like zinc oxide which
guards the skin from the sun’s harmful rays and from inflammation.  It gives your face a healthy and natural
glow.  And there are mineral make-ups
which actually minimize or reduce acne!
One of my favorite brands (in fact, it is the only one I use
now) is Joppa Minerals.  The mineral
make-up company was born when Amy Casto Booher was on a search for a natural
alternative to commercial cosmetics.  Her
oldest daughter who was starting a career in the musical theatre had severe
psoriasis. Theatre make-up was extremely harsh on her daughter’s skin and even
cosmetics which claim to be natural contained chemicals which irritate the
skin.  Amy did research and testing until
finally, Joppa Minerals Full Coverage Mineral Foundation was born.  It still remains to be Joppa’s best selling
product.  In fact, a lot of people claim
that leaving it on overnight can heal acne!
I buy them online.
In between BB and CC minerals, I still am a Joppa Mineral
Make-up user.  I have been having lesser
flare-ups and if I do have one, the mineral make-up can cover it.

My facial skin is much healthier, and if I do break out, the ingredients heal my skin.

And the best part – it makes me glow.

Joppa Morning Dew Sunny Day
Choosing your exact shade is pretty tricky though.  Unlike regular drugstore brands where you have a choice of only three shades, Joppa has 4 formulas and over 56 shades.  To find your perfect fit, you can get Joppa’s 3-piece mini-sampler kit for $5.50.  The mini-sampler kit will consist of two foundations of your choice and a finishing silk.  The sampler may look small, but with mineral make up, a little goes a long way.

And oh, Joppa is offering  free worldwide shipping until January 20!  You can buy Joppa Minerals online (yup, they ship to the Philippines).  Visit Joppa’s site here.

Disclosure:  I have not received any product for this review.  This review is purely Joppa Mineral Makeup love.

I've been wanting to get mineral make up for sometime now. It was like me deciding if I want to use BB creams when I got Oil of Olay. Since I want a bit of color on my face without the risk of having zits, I might succumb to the call of mineral make up soon!

I stopped using BB cream already since it just makes my skin oily and I had frequent breakouts too. So now, I'm using a toner, then sunflower oil and Gluta C creams Daddy A gave me. Mas kasundo ng skin ko pala ang Gluta C kesa sa ibang brands. Hehe… But kahit waley ako alam sa make up parang magandang itry yang Joppa Minerals. Where can I buy pala sis? Thanks.

This looks interesting. And it looks good on you nga, sis!

But since I'm home all the time and rarely go out, I don't see the need of wearing make up yet, haha! When out naman, baby powder lang ng son ko gamit ko, hihi! I'm not really a make up person, pag may occasion lang. 🙂

I love mineral based make-ups. They don't leave me in hives or rashes. I haven't tried that brand yet. I use GOSH.

Mineral make up is loved. But wait, is it the same as the organic ones? I'm not familiar rin kasi since I don't apply too much make up on my face. hehehe!
