Family fun can be found in countless ways. Taking a vacation to a popular destination is fun and results in memories for a lifetime. But, family fun can also be found in simpler pursuits. For example, families can enjoy playing cornhole, an activity almost all family members can participate in.
Cornhole Equipment
The best cornhole boards are made of wood. Boards are two feet wide and four feet long and have a circle in the middle of the board near the elevated end of the board. The object is to toss bean bags filled with corn or another material into the hole from a specified distance.
Scoring Cornhole
Points are awarded for bags tossed into the hole and on the board. No points are given for bags landing on the ground. Two boards are used with players from both two-person teams standing at each board and competing against each other as well as the other team.
Play Cornhole Almost Anywhere
Cornhole boards travel easily. All that is required is a flat space approximately ten feet wide and twenty feet long. A yard is a great place to play cornhole and if it rains, the game can be moved to a garage or carport. Boards can go to the beach, to the lake, and to tailgating events.
Cornhole Is Adaptable For All Ages
While cornhole rules typically apply to older children and adults, the game can easily be modified for people of all ages and abilities. For younger children the distance between the boards can be decreased. A shorter distance between the boards could encourage older family members to play as well. There is also nothing complicated about the scoring making the game easy for young children to keep up with.
Cornhole truly is a game that can be enjoyed by almost everyone in the family. While the logistics of some trips and activities can make participation by all family members difficult, cornhole is an affordable game that can be played almost anywhere by almost anyone making family fun an opportunity for all.
