Who wants to welcome the new year with lots of luck?
Everyone, of course, and one of the ways to bring in the luck is with the help of space arrangement tips.
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment.  The practice is estimated to be more than 3,000 years old and basically Feng Shui shows you how to add energy into your space and how to direct that energy toward your goals and dreams.

According to a Feng Shui expert, we have three kinds of luck which help shape our destiny:
  • 1/3 is Heavenly Luck, which is our destiny and is pre-ordained and God-ggiven
  • 1/3 is Mankind Luck, which help shape our destingy, and
  • 1/3 is Earthly Luck, which is how we live in harmony with the earth and this can be helped by proper Feng Shui
Feng Shui is an exact science and many factors come into play when practicing Feng Shui.  In fact, your exact time and date of birth usually are necessary, when getting an accurate reading of how to use Feng Shui to your advantage.  However, here are some general tips and guidelines that you can use to bring luck and prosperity into your home.

Some Chinese decorative pieces that are used to attract good luck:

Maneki Neko Lucky Cat

This very popular lucky cat is used to protect its owner.  A cat is believed to have nine lives and that is why it is considered lucky.
Wind Chimes

This is considered an excellent metal cure for afflictions.  Alternatively, crystal balls placed in windows also transmute harmful “Sha” into healing “Chi”.
Foo Dogs

These are used to guard the home and are preferably placed outside the front door.
Bagua Mirror

Each side of this 8-sided mirror represents an aspect of life station.  When placed outside the front door, it creates a vortex drawing in all of the “Sha” energy from outside your home.  This energy is transmuted into “Chi” before it enters your home.
Money Toad

This 3-legged frog sitting on a mound of coins and ingots are supposed to protect your wealth.

More Tips on achieving optimal balance of Chi in your home using the elements:

South

Using red curtains or cushions help activate the fire element of this sector and this brings fame and recognition.

North

An oil painting of a waterfall can enhance your career luck.

East

Use wood elements like potted plants or cane furniture to bring in good health

West

A portrait of family members, ideally with a gold frame brings harmony to the family while activating the metal element.

Northeast

Crystals in this area can strengthen the energy to tap good education luck for your children.

Southeast

Water elements such as blue curtains or even an aquarium helps bring in wealth.

You want to atrract more luck in your home?

  • Replace dried flowers with real flowers or even silk flowers.  It is believed that dried plants equal death, which in turn could lead to dead wealth.
  • A bowl of garlic as a centerpiece in the dining table is symbolic of wealth accumulation.
  • Hanging 3 Chinese coins tied with a red ribbon on the back of the front door handle attracts wealth or money.
There are a thousand ways to adapt Feng Shui into your life, whether you are a devoted believer or you simply want to add some good energy into your life.MommyUnwired_thumb1
