Play Online Games For Free
Video games these days, be it online or console gaming, have probably broken all the rules with futuristic designs and features. But, personally, I love playing simple free online games in between work breaks
I may be old school, but I love playing arcade classics reminiscent of PacMan and Tetris.
I am weird that way.
But seriously, playing simple online games has been a comfort to me especially when I have to deal with long hours of analyzing and auditing financial statements. This much is true if we go by the results of a study done by researchers on game players using games as a coping tool for stress recovery. It has been documented that playing games immensely helped with work-related fatigue.
Games also helped me cope during the Covid-19 lockdown last year when I have to deal with staying at home the entire day! Being on a lockdown when I had travel plans before that happened made me feel so isolated. Animal Crossing: New Horizons saved me. During those insane times when the virus threat is so real and experts know so little about the virus, playing games helped me escape to a place where these crazy things are not happening.
So! Like I was telling you, I love playing arcade classic games. I like the simplicity plus it reminds me of old games I used to play.
And guess what? I found online games reminis cent of PacMan and Tetris at plays.org.
In fact, if you are not into arcade games, you can choose from over 100 games in their games catalog. The best part is that these online games are FREE!

First game I tried:

Pac Rat Game is a game inspired by PacMan. You (as the Rat) eat the cheese while the cats are chasing you like crazy in the simple maze. You have to avoid the cats because if the cat bumps into you, it will eat you and you die.
But! If you ate a power up pellet, you will glow and the cats get really scared because you can eat them instead.
This game is fun, although like any online game, I sucked at using the game controls especially if I am using my laptop (which is what I usually use because I have to go back to my financial worksheets, right?). It takes a lot of getting used to, but the game, I swear is fun!

This game has 6 levels and 3 cats which is much easier than the original PacMan. Needless to say, I was having difficulty even in Level 1 because honestly, I have not played arcade games online for a long time now. What is nice is that plays.org remembers where I stopped playing as long as I am using the same gadget.
Second Game I Tried:
I also tried Super Tetris which was pretty much like one of the games I had in my old analog cellphone. I didn’t realize I totally sucked at playing Tetris until I played this again lol. Maybe I was just having difficulty with using the arrow keys on my keyboard. It was fun playing this game though, as soon as I got the hang out of it. It brought me back to the days when playing simple games literally sparked joy. (By the way, I was reminded of “Snake” and hey, they also have a version of it!)

One of the features I like in Super Tetris is that a mirror of the current piece that will fall down appears at the bottom. This will help you position your block. Also, it displays the next blocks in advance making you decide early on where to place the blocks.

Why I like play.org:
- It has over 100 games that are definitely free, you guys, and you can make game requests through a feedback form.
- I can directly play on my browser which is really an added plus, especially if I am just taking a little break from work.
- Games are ads-free.
If you are too wrapped up in work that you can literally feel your neck muscles tensing, why not take a break and try a game or two of plays.org?
