Want to save time doing holiday baking?
Who loves baking?
I do, I do! Baking for the holidays is supposed to be fun, right?
I get your drift. …Baking during the holidays is supposed to be fun.
But holiday baking, when it feels like it is just another chore waiting to be done, can be so.not.fun.
(IKR! Everyone’s having fun while you are slaving away in your kitchen, coming up with something to make them have more fun! Not fair, really, even if you are a mom…)
Thankfully, you don’t need to be miserable while everyone is having fun. By just making sure that your kitchen is organized for holiday baking, you won’t ever think that holiday baking is a chore. Ever again.
The key to having enough time for holiday baking is by having an organized kitchen.
Simple, right? I know moms (guilty here!), who have really messy kitchens. But when your kitchen is organized, di ba ang sarap magtrabaho?
If you are tamad to organize your kitchen, at least do the following:
Keep Your Dishes and Kitchen Appliances in strategic places.
Dishes should be stored near the dishwasher or sink. Store spices, cooking oil, and condiments in racks close to where your stove or oven is.
- Here’s a tip: If you are right-handed, put your spices and other cooking stuff to the right. If you’re left-handed, store them to your left.
Store Dishes and Appliances you don’t use.
Momshies, guilty kayo dito!
We can’t seem to have enough dishes, right? (I still buy dishes just because it is on sale ng 50% even if I still have sets we got during our wedding day stored in our attic!)
But please, please keep all those special dishes and other appliances out of sight. You won’t want your kitchen to be a display area. Storing dishes and appliances you don’t use saves space and makes your kitchen look clean.
I used to think it is better to have more. However, having more dishes and utensils will just mean more to clean up. (Plus, you and your kids will just keep using the dishes and utensils until you realize your sink is overflowing with dishes and utensils to wash up.)
Clear your kitchen counter from any junk.
Don’t put small kitchen appliances you are not using on your counter. Store them.
And please don’t put your bills, recipe cards, grocery lists and store coupons on your counter. Use cute refrigerator magnets to pin them on your ref door.
Have a grocery list and pen on your fridge door with an inventory of things you already have. This way, you will avoid going through your cupboards when preparing your shopping list. Making an inventory will make you avoid buying duplicate bowls, pans, and other baking needs.
- Let me tell you about one inventory valuation we accountants use.
One of the inventory valuations we use is the first in, first out (FIFO). In a trading concern, this simply means that the first goods purchased are also the first goods sold. Now, do this with your grocery supplies. The first batch of kitchen supplies and food items you buy should also be the first batch you will consume.
Always keep your kitchen immaculately clean.
I can never stress this enough. A clean kitchen is a MUST in every home.
Have a kitchen paper towel always at your counter.
(I prefer paper towels to cloth paper towels since they are more hygienic. )
When it comes to kitchen paper towels, I don’t just go for any paper towel. They need to be:
- Absorbent,
- Strong,
- Soft, and
- Pretty
Qualities which Sanicare Kitchen Towels have.
Have you seen Sanicare Kitchen Towels lately?
I am beyond happy that Sanicare Kitchen Towels have come up with Christmas designs!(They do this every year!)
Cleaning up has never been so Christmassy!
But first of all, let me tell you about Sanicare.
Sanicare is a line of tissues, paper towels and other hygienic products such as underpads, cotton, wipes and toilet seat cover.
Now what I am loving about Sanicare is that It has its own Kitchen Hygiene line which is composed of Kitchen Towels, Lunch Napkins and Mood Dinner Napkins. Perfect for moms like me who spend most of their time in the kitchen!
Sanicare Kitchen Towels are very absorbent because it has perfected a moisture locking technology unique to the brand.
Plus, (a very nice plus, indeed), Sanicare Mood Dinner Napkins comes in two colors – white and black.
So Yin and Yang, right?
The best part? Sobra siyang lambot, but you can’t believe it is so strong!
Sanicare is also a Filipino brand. Bongga, di ba?
Sanicare and Alex Eduque collaboration
Aside from the yearly special Christmas prints on Sanicare Kitchen Towels, Sanicare has collaborated with Alex Eduque and came up with beautiful box designs for the Sanicare 3-ply facial tissue.
Alex Eduque, doodler, social activist, and gifted artist, is the founder of Molding Optimism and values Thru Education (MovEd), an organization with the aim to give every Filipino child a quality early childhood education.
The special Sanicare tissue boxes feature parol designs which represent unification. She believes parols are a symbolic representation of promise and unification. Parols also transcend social classes – you can see parols in rich and poor dwellings – and lights up every Filipino home.
Stars are also integrated in the design because they are a constant reminder that “we share the same sky and despite the stark differences and circumstances in all corners of the world, that each one of us has a star shining brightly within.”
These special Christmas boxes come in the Christmassy colors of red, blue, red, white and green.
