Anyone who knows me know that I read a lot. And since J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter, I have
been reading a whole lot of Young Adult fiction, not just because I can only read something for a little
while before I am interrupted by a “Mom, I need my chocolate drink. Now.”, or
an “Omigod, Nicole left her lunchbox” or a “Hon, where are my socks?”, but also because I immensely, honestly enjoy it a
lot. I love witches (now called “Casters”
in the “Caster Chronicles”), magic, zombies, werewolves, and I swear I have
been searching for a copy of Naermyth by Karen Francisco, a story about post-apocalyptic
Philippines, which includes creatures of Filipino folklore like the tikbalang, the kapre, and the aswang.

And yes, I am happy to announce to all of you people that Brandon Ax over at baxwriting.blogspot.com has just recently released a book in the genre I so love (Young Adult Fiction, Urban Fantasy).
Presenting “Elemental“!!!

What is Elemental
About?
About?
Sophia’s mother disappeared when she was six,
leaving behind a broken father and sleep disturbed by silent terrors. Now
twelve years later, the nightmares that plagued her youth have suddenly
returned.
leaving behind a broken father and sleep disturbed by silent terrors. Now
twelve years later, the nightmares that plagued her youth have suddenly
returned.
With dark creatures occupying her nights and a
sense of restlessness consuming her days, all she wants is to finish school and
get out of her small town as fast as possible. Everything changes when she is
confronted with the realization that the shadowy beings from her dreams are
real. The truth of this reality hits hard when someone she loves is killed. It
would seem that anyone in their way is disposable.

would seem that anyone in their way is disposable.
A mysterious boy named Aiden enters her life
bringing with him all sorts of complications. They’re drawn to each other, but
their connection brings Aiden right into the path of her half-demon nightmares.
With her father and several new friends put in the cross-hairs, Sophia must
decide whether to let the shadows take her or stand her ground and fight. As
the school year steadily moves closer to an end her decision may come with the
cost of her life or worse—the lives of those she cares about.

Brandon says that “The story in itself is one about finding
acceptance of yourself and where you belong in life, painted behind a colorful
backdrop of demons and elementals. I
enjoyed writing this book immensely and hope you enjoy reading it.”
