A Nicholas Sparks movie/novel never fails to make me cry.  That is why after watching “The Notebook”  on the month my mom was diagnosed with meningioma and I was forced to watch her slip away as she was slowly losing her memory and her spirit was dying right before my eyes,  I have simply stopped.
Not until today, though, on Valentine’s Day.  I saw “Safe Haven”.  It is typical Nicholas Sparks.  It is a story about a mysterious young woman seemingly running from the law and lands in a small town in North Carolina where she meets and bonds with a widower.   It has really beautiful scenic shots (I was like, hey, I want to live there!) and it tugged on my heartstrings.  I reached for my tissues (sob) and was a bit annoyed that the cinema has to put the lights on after the final shot (I so don’t want people seeing me crying).  Sob.

If you are looking for depth and a story line that makes sense, forget it.  But if you are into love and cheesy happy endings (like me), do catch it on a late Valentine’s Day date.  It stars Julianne Hough of Dancing with the Stars and  Josh Duhamel, Fergie’s main man.

I did read somewhere that practically all of Nicholas Spark’s movie characters look like Barbie and Ken.  Do you think so, too?

I like cheesy love stories but not too sad. I don't like movies/novels that make me cry.

I just like watching the movie adaptations hehehe. The books are kind of dragging at the start. Takes me a while to finish the books. Lol!

I like romance, too. But I have't seen any movie lately. The last was last November at Bangkok. Too bad for me. ๐Ÿ™
