Times have changed. It is normal to see babies and toddlers playing with their parents’ smartphones and tablets. In fact, give them any gadget, and they will quickly learn to use and get the hang of them.
As a busy parent, I confess I have used these gadgets as a babysitter. These gadgets keep my child entertained while I struggle to cook dinner or do laundry (maybe sneak in a blog post) or go through a long drive.
The amazing thing about electronic media is that as your child gets older, there are quality apps and online games that can build vocabulary and literacy skills. Our one-year old girl in the house particularly loves Baby Games on Playrosy.com.
Baby Games on Playrosy.com is one of the kid’s most favorite site! And I don’t
really mind. You know why? The games:
- Are appropriate for the child’s age
- Are fun. It makes her laugh
- Encourage her thinking skills.
- Make her happy especially if she achieves the game’s goal
- Encourage me to join in.
The best thing about these Baby Online Games? They are games which the child is doing and learning at home and in daycare. She plays games of a baby going to the zoo and the doctor, washing clothes and sorting the whites and the colored, and many more. They are entertaining as well as educational.
I agree that these educational apps can be really helpful in raising smart kids. However, it is also of equal importance to set limits and use parental control on these gadgets because as much as they can be helpful, they could also cause harm when used excessively.
My Kindergarten is now playing Jiji the Penguin ( from school) and I admit the game is fun and interactive and my daughter learned pretty fast. This baby games at playrosy.com is pretty cool as well. I'm going to check it out sometime. Thank you for sharing Sis:)
my kid loves to play online games too. i just make sure that its educational and wont take much of his time, so i also let him play traditional outdoor games and just let him run as much as possible. these online games are a good distraction too when were travelling or on a queue, im gonna check out this site, for sure he'll love it too! 🙂
the life of a techie kid! Sometimes, it pays to have these gadgets to have the kids learn new things or get preoccupied.
