I just made a new discovery!
This!
(I have a thing for yellow rice so this is perfectly perfect!)
What is RiCo Corn Rice?
Let me tell you the reasons why RiCo Corn Rice is best for flat-tummy wishers like me:
- It has high fiber content,
- It has no cholesterol, and
- It has lower glycemic index to control and balance blood sugar making it perfect for diabetics and weight watchers.
Three Easy Steps of cooking RiCo Corn Rice:
Like Rice, all you have to do to cook RiCo Corn Rice is to BOIL, POUR AND SIMMER.
Here are some tips to make the perfect yellow RiCo Corn Rice:
- Don’t wash the grains to prevent the loss of water-soluble nutrients.
- If you prefer loose and fluffy (buhaghag) consistency, cook RiCo like you are cooking pasta. Boil water first before putting in the corn rice and dragging the water afterwards.
- RiCo retains its yellow color even after it is cooked, making it a hit among kids (like Adrian, my son, who insists on the yellow rice!)
And you don’t need to settle for boiled or fried RiCo rice! Take a look at yummy healthy recipes you can do with RiCo Corn Rice:

RiCo Corn Rice is something new to me, although corn rice is not. I think it is still not available in my town. I will look for this next time I get to visit Bacolod. I am excited of the recipes that can be done with it.
You have a really great site!
Thanks!
Whoah! This is interesting! I don't think I've seen yellow corn rice here in Dubai, but I hope they do soon so I can try it out.
I agree with you! It's really difficult to eat most of the Pinoy dishes (especially those with sauce) minus the rice. This is great! Will look further into this. Thanks, Marie!
Interesting food. I haven't heard about this type of rice before but have seen yellow Saffron rice or rice added with tumeric to get the yellow coloring.
This is a new discovery! I've never seen a Rico corn rice ever but I'll be glad to try one. I am an ultimate rice lover but I hate how it makes my tummy bulge. Thanks for sharing!
We are looking for much healthier substitute for rice. Although, I can say I am eating rice in moderation na. But I cannot take it totally off from my diet, haha. This is good option aside from brown rice no?
Honestly, I don't like corn rice feeling ko ang hirap sya lunukin dahil cguro hindi ako sanay. But I think I'm willing to make a change and try this RiCo Corn Rice too. I hope I'll see it in the grocery soon.
It's like it's a natural Star margarine rice minus the margarine, hehe! It looks like an interesting alternative to white rice. Rice is something I find hard to eliminate from my diet, the viands with sauces need rice!
What about the taste? is it more of corn or rice?
Interesting! This is new to me and I wanted to try, but I have a second thought. Is this organic? I am not fond of eating corn because they are mostly genetically modified.
