Like any teenager, I grew up having a soundtrack for each
day of my life. It could range from Wham’s
“Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go)” (if I am
feeling extremely happy), Belinda Carlisle’s “I Get Weak” (every time I see the one I was seriously
crushing on) or Westlife’s “Flying
without Wings” (when feeling hopeful or philosophical about life).

My teen girls are quite the same. I can easily foretell their state of mind by
the kind of music they listen to.
Sometimes, they would do a lovely duet that sometimes I wish I can get
them an electro harmonix from musicians friend.

We tend to listen to music that reflects what we are
feeling, so I think we should listen closely to what our teens listen to as a
gauge for what they are going through.

so true…in my case I even have soundtracks for people. Eternal Flame by the Bangles remind me of my best friend in grade 3! 🙂
I loved Eternal Flame too haha and it is for one specific person too
It's the case with me, too. LOL! I can't let a day pass without listening to music. Do you have a preference sis? 🙂
I am in teen mode, Meikah hehe so I love Pink. "So What" if annoyed (nananananana, i wanna start a fight), Just Give Me A Reason (cuz I love the melody) and Pink again if galit with this one person in the office who is on menopausal stage ("you're so mean when you talk…"). And of course, my perpetual soundtrack by Bruno Mars (Today I dont feel like doing anything) hehe. What about you, sis?
It's a good point to pay attention to what our teens are listening to. Not only can we gauge their interests and mood, we might develop a new love for some of their selections 🙂
Yes, I've been gone awhile. 🙂

I hope someday when my baby becomes a teenager, that I would remember what it was like—I think im scared of my own demons=)
That's a great idea!
Speaking of crushes, I dedicate the song 'I Just Wanna Be Close To You' by Whigfield (if I'm not mistaken). 😛
i like A1 when i was in elementary.. hehe =)
i personally love new wave songs and air supply! yay! 🙂
That's true, your emotions may be identified with the kind of music your listening to. I'm guilty too.
