For years, the only ways
to obtain a quality education were to attend a traditional school or to learn
as an apprentice. The arrival of online learning has enabled thousands of
people to further their education. Although online education is very convenient,
there are some myths being circulated about its credibility. Here are some of
the most prevalent myths about online learning.
Myth: Online courses are low-quality
This myth could not
be further from the truth. Online course are just as informative and
challenging as a traditional in-class course. The online courses are designed
by professionals that have years of experience in education.
Myth: Online coursework is not respected by potential
employers
With each passing
year, more and more employers are beginning to recruit online schools for
talented workers. Most of today’s employers do not draw a line between
traditional schooling and a top-quality online education.
Myth: Online classes do not have actual professors
Just like a
traditional class, online courses are also taught by actual professors. If the
student has any questions, they are more than welcome to contact the teacher.
The main objective of the instructor is to instill the knowledge into the mind
of the student.
Myth: There are no deadlines to complete assignments
Although online
courses have a more flexible schedule, the assignments still need to be
completed by a certain time. Whether the person is seeking OT Training or an advancement in a physical
therapy career, the student must stay on track in order to prepare for any
exams.
There are interesting online classes I want to enlist to but I just never had the time to consistently attend the class and do the assignments. 🙁 I hope I can find time this year.
I agree with these are just myths when it comes to online education because there are some Open University courses that rely mainly thru online means…hmmm, should this remind me to find an online course na? hehehe
Online classes is getting more popular here. A very convenient way to finish your your school at comfort of your home and also save you a lot of time. My hubby do mostly of his subject online and visit the campus once a week, which really helps:)

These are good thoughts to ponder as there are really growing doubts about taking online courses. But it was explained in this post pretty well so those doubts would probably be erased.
I think that you still get same knowledge taking online course, although some myth give reasonable points. I still think that online classes help to those who have a hectic schedule and find ways to finish their studies.

I'm enrolled in a bookkeeping class right now. I like it so far. The lessons are self-paced so I can take them whenever I like. 🙂 More convenient for me than going to a campus.
Yes, online education nowadays is spreading and I think, new generation should be educated with online usage.
I think online education is a viable alternative but as in any learning, you really need to exert effort.
When my husband was in the Military, he finished an associate degree online. When he retired, he pursued another degree but this time in physical school, he got all the credits that he earned from online school and was able to use towards the course he took.
I never think any of the above about online courses. What hinders me to take one is the tuition fee. It is quite expensive 🙁
Online courses now are popular and spreading, thus, some individuals really favored this system.
i have a pending class in skillshare (they provide online classes) but I haven't touched it after 3 months. I kind of feel bad. it's because while staring at the video i become sleepy. but this really inspires me to push through! after all there are indeed no shortcuts to learning something great 🙂
I think for online education deadlines are really important.
Online classes really gives those busy individual s to pursue their degrees. Just like anything else, there are also pros and cons.
I did some online courses in Univ. of the Philippines few years ago and yes, even online course have professors. I remember my Prof. Her name is Ange and we used to discuss the projects and assignments in the forum created for our class.
